Key Information


The primary teaching-learning methods employed are didactic lectures, hands-on practical sessions and postings in various sections of the diagnostic laboratory like hematology, histopathology, cytopathology, blood bank, biochemistry and microbiology. Care is taken to ensure that every student is given more than enough hands-on experience to master the required skills.


  • The PGDMLT program is affiliated to a Medical university (Maharashtra University of Health Sciences) with course content matching with employment requirements.
  • The program is conducted at the K J Somaiya Medical College that has a 500 bed hospital with well equipped in-house diagnostic laboratory and a state of the art blood bank.
  • Course content is delivered by expert medical teachers
  • Adequate infrastructure Facilities – (lecture halls, specialized departmental laboratories, and library) ensure student comfort and smooth delivery of course content.
  • Postings in Hospital laboratories and blood bank ensure adequate hands-on experience to master the required skills.
  • Placement guidance is provided to students on successful completion of the program
