Anaesthesiology deals with administering anaesthesia for all surgical procedures. It includes General Anaesthesia, Regional Anaesthesia and Peripheral Nerve blocks, which can be extended post operatively for pain relief.

We run postgraduate (DNB) courses in Anaesthesiology. Our Students are trained in all fields of anaesthesiology including critical care and ICU. We conduct CPCR workshops, CME’s and training for Medical students, Interns, Paramedics and Postgraduates. Recently we have set up a dedicated simulation lab for skilled training on mannequins as per new CBME Curriculum. We have an experienced faculty with many years of teaching experience providing highest quality of medical education to the students both under graduates and post graduates.The department is headed by Professor Dr. Chaula Doshi who has 34 years of clinical and teaching experience in Anaesthesiology and ably supported by Professor Dr. Preeti More with 25years of teaching and clinical experience, She is a Pain Consultant. Dr. Tanvi Dhawale and Dr. Piyush Wani are working as associate professors. Dr. Renuka Purohit, Dr. Akash Tambule, Dr. Ashwini Khandwe and Dr. Sharanya Ramanujam working as assistant professors.

The Department of Anaesthesiology offers high quality clinical care to all surgical specialties and super specialties for all age groups of patients from paediatric to geriatric. The services offered includes anaesthesia for all general surgeries including laparoscopy, urology, paediatric, plastic, oncosurgery, neurosurgery, gynecology and obstetrics, ENT, ophthalmology, orthopaedic, emergency and trauma. We have well equipped, state of art operation theaters with modern anaesthesia work stations and multichannel monitors with a good postoperative recovery area ( PACU). We also offer acute pain services for postoperative pain relief and also chronic pain management. We serve as perioperative physicians for the surgical patients. Our services start from preoperative assessment (PAC),administering anaesthesia, monitoring and postoperative care in the PACU, recovery room. We are well equipped to provide various anaesthesia techniques like General, Regional, Peripheral nerve blocks including USG guided as per patients and surgical requirement. Our day care services include anaesthesia for diagnostic and therapeutic Endoscopies, Bronchoscopies, procedures for chronic pain management, OPD and Pain clinic. Our services also extend out side the operation theater areas like MRI and CT Scan. We are running emergency services 24 x 7.
