Radiology, also called diagnostic imaging, is a series of different tests that take pictures or images of various parts of the body. Many of these tests are unique in that they allow doctors to see inside the body. A number of different imaging exams can be used to provide this view, including X-ray, MRI, ultrasound, CT scan, mammography, nuclear medicine, fluoroscopy, bone mineral densitometry and PET scan.
The department of Radiology at KJSH brings to you some of the most experienced and highly knowledgeable Radiologist who constantly provide accurate diagnosis at affordable prices. Radiology’s role is central to disease management, with a wide choice of tools and techniques available for the detection, staging and treatment. Diagnostic imaging provides detailed information about structural or disease related changes. Early diagnosis saves lives.It helps in diagnosis and treatment.
Radio diagnosis conducts various activities, general clubs, seminars, CMEs, undergraduate training program and workshops. Our students and staff actively participate for the same. Log books are maintained. We conduct breast imaging mammography camps, interdepartmental meet, World Radiology Day and Doctor’s Day.
The department was established in the year 1991 in the ground floor of the hospital. Our Department is functional 24x7,includes three X-ray machine,three state of art Ultrasound machine, four portable X-ray machine and 16 slice Multidetector CT scan
X-ray services and Fluroscopy
The department has Five X-ray units with four machine dedicated for radiography of which two are fully Digital HF 500mA X-ray units and one machine is exclusively for Fluroscopy where we carry out barium swallow, barium meal, follow through, barium enema,micurating cysto urethrogram(MCU) and Intravenous urography(IVU), Hysterosalphingography-(HSG).Portable X-ray services are given all over the hospital 24x7 for 365 days to ICU, Neonatal unit, Accident and Emergency unit and OT.
Ultrasound and Colour Doppler
All four ultrasound machine are equipped with colour Doppler where we carry out arterial, venous Doppler study, Doppler of carotid, vertebral artery. In ultrasound we do obstetrics and gynecological evaluation, ophthalmic ultrasound, ultrasound of thyroid, prostate, transcranial ultrasound apart from routine abdomen and Pelvis. We have a state of art Ultrasound machines where we do shear wave elastography of Liver,Thyroid and Breast and Strain elastography for other organs like thyroid , breast.We have dedicated high frequency probe for Ocular ultrasound, 3-4D probe for Obstetrics, Nerve tracking software,AI based software - S DETECT for for automatically detecting benign form Malignant lesion of Breast, thyroid and other organs
16 slice Multidetector CT scan
CT scan – We have 16 slice Multidetector CT scan where routine CT brain, Chest, Abdomen and Pelvis.
1.5T MRI Machine
All routine Brain, Spine Abdomen, extremities scan are done. It has dedicated software like cartigram for Knee and other joints.
