Event Details

- Dengue is a viral disease that affects millions worldwide spread by the Aedes mosquito which breeds in stagnant water causing severe symptoms like high fever, severe headache, retro orbital pain, joint and muscle pain, rash, bleeding and potentially life threatening complications. 
- Prevention of dengue can be done by eliminating mosquito breeding sites i.e. stagnant water from our surroundings, using mosquito repellants, wearing protective clothing and installing window screens. 
- The event encouraged community members to take an active role in preventing and controlling the spread of dengue. It also fostered collaboration between health care professionals, community leaders and local authorities to promote public health.
- Warning signs of dengue were explained and participants were recommended to rush to the nearest health centre for treatment.
