The Pathology department forms the backbone of any hospital as it provides
the diagnosis which is essential for any treatment.
Pathology literally translates to the ‘Study of Suffering’ and
more precisely the term is used for study of diseases.
The aetiology, mechanism of diseases and changes occurring in organs at
macroscopic as well as microscopic level are studied. The changes are
correlated with clinical findings.
Investigations, principles of techniques and interpretation of the results
are also part of this subject.
