In vivo research in medical colleges is gaining importance systematically by following MCI, UGC, CPCSEA rules and guidelines. In our medical college we have developed a very good independent separate building of “in vivo research facility”. It has compliance of CPCSEA norms time to time for physical facility, functioning and recording systems. During a period of 2014 to 2019, twelve IAEC meetings were conducted and total 38 projects have been discussed and received approvals. Total 1244 numbers of laboratory animals have been used for 33 projects. The scientific trend of the studies was evaluation of antidiabetic, wound healing, analgesic, anxiolytic, depression, immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, memory and anti-obesity. These studies yielded 33 publications. We aim further to have translational research through interdisciplinary approach.
